Oooooh. The G♯ that's playing in the Halberstadt performance of As Slow As Possible is about to be turned off in just five days!

Here's a Classic FM article (and a second article with more of a backstory focus) about the last chord change back in 2020, a video from WION about it which I haven't watched much of, the Reuters source for that event, and the piece's Wikipedia article.

I have here a Lindt Excellence 78% dark chocolate bar which I am occasionally nibbling pieces of at breakfast. (It is in fact quite good.)

On the inside of the paper covering, there's some marketing material about using all five senses to experience it.

Under “Taste”, the description uses the phrase “hints of cocoa” (emphasis mine).

78%.

This got a bit long. But I was just listening to the Emacs joke David made in his Doom editing video, and just for the record:

aggressive nerdery )
chalcedony_starlings: Two scribbled waveforms, one off-black and one off-white, overlapping, on a flat darkish purpleish background. (Default)

Quotespost for the post on “The Raccoon Who Lost Their Shape”. Spoilery in the sense that such a thing exists for a visual chapbook much of whose appeal comes at the level of individual lines. (“type: transcript” because that's the closest thing even though it's very fragmented.)

quotable spoilery )
chalcedony_starlings: A square pixel face from a Minecraft skin, with color variation mimicking a feathery texture. It's split in half vertically: the left side is off-white with a brown eye, and the right side is off-black with a green eye. There's dots to the far left and right. (ditherian)

So after [personal profile] kjorteo posted about “The Raccoon Who Lost Their Shape”, I had to try it. You should really read her post because it will be better-written than mine by a large margin.

mostly-raw impressions )

She also said it was “highly quotable”. I am already agreeing heavily a few seconds in, so I'm just going to be jotting these down as I go. There's going to be a number of these, and I'm going to put them in a separate sorta-spoilery post.

One last thing, slightly exaggerated for effect.
