(−) Recent cooking experiments:
Tomato-y rice with mushroom, plus fried king trumpet mushroom and some kind of random beef cut—I think chuck shoulder? Garnished at serving time with green onions, and post-beef sauce deglazed with soy sauce and rice vinegar.
Turmeric-and-bit-of-mustard rice, and then I was attempting to cook some strange Pulmuone green pepper dumplings from the Korean market first, but frying them straight from the freezer didn't work so well even though this worked for other types. So they kind of disintegrated, and then that plus the eggs and mushrooms and spinach I was going to use got turned into weird egg mushroom spinach dumpling stew instead. It was still edible enough, but pretty disorderly.

Turmeric rice subsequently got sardines and butter on it, with more green onion and a bit of white wine vinegar. And that was pretty good too, even though we're focusing more on easier foods this week to save time for other things.
We got a bunch more kimchi from the Korean market, and this time we hedged our bets, getting some chonggak kimchi of the house brand and some Doo-San brand baechu kimchi; they both seem pretty good this time, but we need to use them more, these jars are pretty big! Fortunately that will be both healthy and delicious. :-9
403 is still intending to show us how to use a slow cooker,
I think, though, so we want to have space in the food stream for that…
